Prop Day
Before
we could start filming, we needed to get props. But because our scene involved
varying environments, we decided to make a list of all the props that we would
need it order to film successfully and follow the plot. The first prop that we
decided that we would need is a car. Luckily one of my groupmates had a car and
he had his license so he could legally drive. This was the prop that we would be using at the beginning of our movie, meaning it was crucial that we had
it. After we had the car, the next scenes involved a board game that 3
people could play, and it had to involve money because of what we had planned to
say in our script. After searching for around thirty minutes through various
cupboards and closets we found a game of monopoly that involved money. We
looked at the instructions of how to set up the board game so we could set up
quickly and efficiently in order to save time when we were together filming.
The next section of the script that we needed to cover requires multiple areas
that we needed search in order to show us looking for soothing. Due to the
nature of the movie, we were making we were looking for activities to do and
have fun. So, the place that we needed to think about had t be funny and discrete, as we were looking for something that was not meant to be found.
But, because our film was a comedy we decided to film some places that where
smart, and some that where so wrong that it made the film funny. The places
that we decided on included the washing machine, see through glass cups, a
flowerpot, a cabinet, and behind pillows on a couch, as we figured this
would be funny once edited. Now we had to determine where and how to set
up everything up at and do any preparation on areas we decided to use. Although
because some of the places had clutter inside of them it made it challenging to
prepare. The challenge came in because the there was so many objects located in
some of the places, we looked at that we didn't want included in our filming
when we did. So, we decided to completely empty these places out to get the
prop completely ready, which took a long time. Eventually we had everything we
needed up to the most challenging thing we thought we would need, the Alcohol.
We thought this would be challenging because none of us could legally purchase
alcohol nor did we have the money to do so. But we made a quick solution to
this when we found multiple half-filled liquor bottles in a drawer. As a result
of this blog, we collectively came together as a group and decided upon the
props that we would be using as well as for what scenes they would fit best,
resulting in a productive day leading up to our filming day.
